There’s no doubt that COVID-19 had a major effect on dating and relationships over the past 11 months. How people go about dating has certainly changed a lot and not everyone is completely happy about that.

A new survey finds

  • In the past year, 53% of singles have gone on some sort of virtual first date.
  • 54% say that first date went well enough to warrant a second virtual date.
  • But not everyone is embracing the virtual dating experience.
  • In fact, 61% of couples say not being able to have a regular date night has put stress on their relationship.
  • Prior to lockdowns and quarantine, 80% of people say their top choice for a date night was going out to dinner, followed by:
    • Shopping together (64%)
    • Going to se a movie (61%).
  • In comparison, currently more couples are relying on at-home date nights, including:
    • Ordering takeout (59%)
    • Cooking dinner together (58%)
    • Movie nights in (49%)
  • It’s been so long since people have been able to have date night out that 55% of couples say they’ve started to run out of date night ideas.
  • This isn’t good, considering 69% of couples say date nights are important to keep a healthy relationship.
  • 52% also say not having date night can get in the way of intimacy.
