The Nebraska football Red-White Spring Game has a date.

NU athletic director Trev Alberts announced on Sports Nightly Tuesday that the game will take place April 22. Alberts said the game will likely be at 1 p.m. CDT, but that could change depending on Big Ten Network availability.

The announcement comes 131 days before the game.

“There’s a few of us in the Big Ten Conference that spend quite a bit of time in meetings helping the conference office understand that we need these schedules because our fanbases are scheduling weddings and other things around our schedules,” Alberts said. “So as soon as we can get these out we need to get these out for the benefit of our fans.”

Alberts noted that the game will be the first time fans in Memorial Stadium will get to see the new staff, led by head coach Matt Rhule, as well as any new players.
