Nebraska volleyball earned their second sweep of the opening weekend Saturday.

NU (2-0) swept Lipscomb (0-2) 25-10, 21, 16. The third largest Bob Devaney Sports Center Crowd (8,583) was on hand for the match.

Not everything was easy in the sweep, as the Huskers needed a 9-0 run to erase a six-point deficit late in the second set. The Bisons had their best hitting percentage of the match in that set with a .207 while Big Red had its worst with .259.

For the match, Nebraska hit .366 to Lipscomb’s .091. The Huskers had 20 more kills (42-22) and 13 more digs (38-25).

Merritt Beason had a match-high 11 kills. Harper Murray added 10 kills with a .389 hitting percentage.

Andi Jackson hit .700 with eight kills.

Bergan Reilly notched 29 assists.

Nebraska completes the opening weekend hosting SMU at 2 p.m. CDT Sunday.
