Nebraska softball and junior pitcher Jordy Bahl received preseason honors Monday. The Huskers were ranked No. 21 by Softball America in its preseason poll, while Bahl was listed the No. 2 Player to Watch by D1Softball.com

The Huskers are one of five Big Ten teams in the poll, joining No. 5 UCLA, No. 18 Northwestern, No. 23 Michigan and No. 25 Penn State. Nebraska is slated to play eight teams ranked in the preseason poll: No. 4 Oklahoma State, No. 5 UCLA, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 8 Duke, No. 9 Texas Tech, No. 15 Missouri, No. 16 Baylor and No. 18 Northwestern. That includes Feb. 6 season opener against the Lady Vols.

Bahl earned All-America honors the first two seasons of her college softball career at Oklahoma, before sustaining a season-ending knee injury in her first game as a Husker last February against Washington. She has a career 1.06 ERA and .350 batting average.
