Just how much of an impact does a healthy sex life have on your overall mental health? We’ve heard of not skipping breakfast, but it is just as important to not skip or work through lunch either, and doing so can have drastic effects on our health and happiness. And we all know about the tragedy of loss with hundreds of thousands of people dead from COVID-19, but the Pandemic may also be saving millions of lives at the same time.  Today we share how there are always opportunities, silver-linings, positive things that can come from even the most sad and tragic of situations, so we’ll get into what that looks like and just how extensive is the impact of the Pandemic on our day to day lives.

Does my sex life have an impact on my overall mental health?

The short answer is: Yes. Each person is different in how sexual we are, and how much we prioritize physical intimacy, but at every level it has some very serious effects on our mental health.

From a feeling of connection, companionship, and community, to simply feeling loved and receiving love in our ‘Love Language,’ communicating about what we want and need is the first and most crucial step towards a healthy sex life, no matter how big or small that may be.

You should never skip or work through your lunch.

We’ve talked about how multi-tasking is one of the biggest myths as it actually takes up more time to complete tasks and leaves us 40% less productive, much more stressed, and exhausted after the work day.

Taking a lunch break for your lunch is no different. Don’t multi-task your lunch, because extensive studies have proven that this does not help you get your work done faster, in fact, by powering through your lunch you end up taking an average of 30-60 minutes longer to complete your daily work tasks.

By designating a lunch break away from your phone, email, social media, etc. and simply creating a time and space for you to enjoy your lunch and decompress, you give your brain a re-fresh, a re-boot of sorts that will make you more energized and productive when you return to your workday.

Don’t multi-task, and don’t ‘deskside dine’ through your lunch.  The effects on your overall health are quite drastic.

Could the pandemic help save peoples’ lives?

This is in no way diminishing the severe tragedy and loss of loved ones all over the globe, the hundreds of thousands of precious lives lost right here in the United States, but the pandemic has also forced all of us to re-evaluate and re-prioritize everything in our lives.

From the food we now cook for ourselves and eat, to the need for fiscal responsibility, to the awareness of how we feel both mentally and physically, there are opportunities for all of us to strive for out of a tragic and sad set of circumstances.

Use this as a reason to re-vamp your nutrition, prioritize your family above your work, pay attention to the food you put in your body and your children’s, exorcise and tune up your body to feel better physically and mentally, and revamp your priorities to reflect what you care about the most in life and what truly brings you joy.
