Nebraska wide receiver Jacory Barney, Jr., was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week by the conference office Monday. Barney had a career high nine catches for a career high 85 yards in the Huskers’ 44-25 win over Wisconsin Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Barney also electrified Nebraska’s attack with a 45-yard kickoff return to begin the game.
Barney has been a weapon for the Huskers all season long. He’s already set the school record for receptions by a true freshman with 49, passing Wandale Robinson, who had 40 catches in 2017. Barney leads the Huskers with 49 receptions for 402 yards.
