Calif. officials: César Chávez Day renamed to Farmworkers Day following sexual abuse revelations

California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill on Thursday renaming César Chávez Day to “Farmworkers Day.” The change takes effect immediately, just days before the holiday was set to be celebrated on March 31st this month.
