Massive heatwave expected to scorch U.S. over July 4 weekend

An intense heatwave is expected to grip parts of central and eastern United States ahead of Independence Day festivities, as 111 million are now receiving heat alerts this week, while the National Weather Service warns days of “significant, dangerous heat” are be ahead.
