Nebraska men’s basketball overcame a three-point shooting barrage by Kansas State to hang to win its exhibition finale, 88-84, Monday night in Grand Island, Neb. The Wildcats nailed 16 three-pointers, hitting 43 percent of their attempts from behind the arc, to put a scare into the Cornhuskers. But a 28-point performance by Braden Frager and 23 points by Pryce Sandfort propelled Nebraska to victory and helped the Huskers overcome frigid outside shooting in the second half. NU hit just 6-of-23 attempts from three-point territory, just 26 percent. It was a double-double effort for Frager, who also pulled down 10 rebounds.

The difference was the Huskers’ ability to get to the free-throw line, as Nebraska was 17-for-23 from the charity stripe, while K-State was just 6-for-9. The Huskers outrebounded KSU, 44-37.

Nebraska opens its regular season next Monday, Nov. 2, as the Huskers take on LeMoyne at 6:30 p.m. Pregame coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. on KLIN.
